OBJECTION -This development for 275 dwellings fails to provide adequate provision for disabled people. It appears that it is intended that disabled people can do no more than 'visit' the development, (at best). If approved in this way building regulations would not be able to require 'Accessible and adaptable' or 'Wheelchair user' dwellings and a further 275 dwellings in Spelthorne would effectively exclude disabled people. No mention of provision for disabled people is evident with the exception of enlarged parking spaces. A number of lifts are shown but these do not provide access to all flats. Indeed, from undercroft parking certain lifts are likely to be inaccessible to wheelchair users.
Landscaping and levels indicate the need for steps which create barriers for disabled people to gain access to or around the buildings .
